(Breast Augmentation) Breast shapes vary and their appearance is influenced by symmetry, spinal curvature, and chest wall bony architecture. The concept to increase the appearance of the breast is referred to as a breast augmentation which encompasses using implants (saline or silicone) and/or fat transfer (grafting). During your consultation with our surgeon, we aim to address your goals for the procedure and match your realistic expectation from the procedure.
Your Results Will Depend On:
- Overall health
- Chest structure
- Breast or nipple shape and position
- Skin texture
- Healing capabilities
- Prior surgery, type and size of implant.
Implants alone may not adequately lift the breast, or correct the effects of pregnancy, weight loss, or skin stretching. You may need additional procedures, such as a breast lift, during your breast augmentation to achieve your the desired outcome.
Patients’ breast implants are customized to suit their individual aesthetic goals. They come in two types: saline implants and silicone implants. While silicone implants are said to provide a more natural look and feel, saline implants also offer many benefits.
Breast implants can be round or anatomical and smooth or textured. They come in a variety of sizes and profiles, and the best breast implants for you will depend on your frame and proportions.
Breast Enlargement Techniques
There are different approaches to the breast augmentation procedure. Incision locations include the inframammary (under the fold of the breast), peri-areolar (around the areola), and trans-axillary (through the armpit). Our personal experience favors the inframammary incision, although each approach has its advantages. The placement of implants or fat grafting injections can be above or below the muscle. The exact location will be chosen during your consultation visit.
Fat Grafting Breast Augmentation
This type of breast enlargement involves harvesting excess stubborn fat from areas like the abdomen, back, or thighs and transferring it to the breasts to increase volume. Because the patient’s own fat is used instead of breast implants, the procedure is considered a form of natural breast augmentation.
Fat grafting, or fat transfer, is a three-step procedure. First, liposuction is used to remove the excess fat. Next, the fatty tissue is purified by removing any unnecessary materials, including dead and damaged fat cells. Finally, the healthy fat cells are carefully injected into the breasts to increase size.

The Recovery Process
After your breast augmentation, you will need to take some time off from work to recover and heal. During this process, it will be important to take good care of your incisions and to avoid strenuous activities.
Wearing a supportive surgical bra will help the breasts heal properly and will control post-surgical swelling and bruising. Pain-control medication and antibiotics must be taken as prescribed.
The Cost of Breast Augmentation
The cost of a breast enlargement procedure depends on the exact details of the surgery. The breast implants chosen, the amount of time needed to perform the breast augmentation, and the techniques utilized all affect the procedure’s final price.
